Fresh investigations into the death of 22-year-old university student Constance Githinji, widely known as Connie, have taken a decisive turn after an autopsy confirmed she was killed.

Connie, an ICT student at Murang’a University and a social media influencer, died on April 25 after falling from the sixth floor of a serviced apartment in Kileleshwa, Nairobi. Her death had sparked confusion due to conflicting accounts about what happened in the moments before the fall.

A postmortem conducted on April 30 by government pathologists—alongside family-appointed experts and officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations—found that her injuries were inconsistent with a simple fall.

The findings directly contradict earlier claims by Tony Odhiambo, the man who was with her at the time. He had reportedly told investigators that Connie inflicted harm on herself before falling.

According to the family, the autopsy revealed multiple severe injuries believed to have occurred before the fall. These included a broken left arm, fractures in both legs, trauma to the back of the head, injuries consistent with a blunt object, and a collapsed lung.

Relatives said the results confirm their worst fears—that Connie was attacked before being thrown or falling from the building.

The family described the findings as devastating but said they now have hope that the truth is emerging. They called on investigators to pursue justice and hold those responsible accountable.
