A man has died in Ongata Rongai after sustaining stab wounds during a suspected domestic dispute. The incident occurred at an apartment within the town, leaving residents shocked.
Police identified the deceased as Mungai Gathogo, a 53-year-old chef working in Parliament. Authorities recorded the case at Ongata Rongai Police Station.
According to the report, the matter was raised by a caretaker at Ruth’s Apartment along Honey Pot Road. The deceased had arrived home at about 9:50 pm in the company of his girlfriend.
Police said a confrontation broke out shortly after they entered the house. The woman later left the scene and returned with another individual, who found the victim unconscious.
Officers and detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations visited the scene. They found the man lying on the bedroom floor with a kitchen knife lodged in his arm near the chest.
He was rushed to Ongata Rongai Sub-County Hospital and later referred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police arrested a suspect identified as Catherine Muthoki and placed her in custody. Officers recovered the knife as evidence.
