Officers from Ahero Police Station responded after a mortuary alerted authorities about a suspicious body. The teenager, a Form Two student, had multiple serious injuries.
Police noted head wounds, fractures, and signs suggesting the incident may have occurred outdoors. Investigators established that the parents transported the body to the mortuary before the report.
Officers later arrested the suspects at their home in Kakola. They remain in custody as police prepare to present them in court. The body is held at Othoo Funeral Home pending a postmortem.
In a separate incident, police in Rachuonyo East Sub-County are investigating a suspected suicide. The body of a 67-year-old man was found in River Miriu.
Authorities identified the deceased as Joseph Ouma Ayugi. Reports indicate he left home after writing a note before his body was later discovered in the river.
Police moved the body to Jawabu Funeral Home as investigations continue to determine the exact cause of death.
