NYS Reveals Dates For Nationwide Recruitment For Kenyans

The National Youth Service (NYS) has officially launched a nationwide recruitment exercise targeting young Kenyans across all sub-counties.

In a notice issued on Monday, the agency confirmed that the exercise will run from March 16 to March 21, with eligible youths required to present themselves at designated recruitment centres within their respective sub-counties.

NYS urged interested candidates to turn up in large numbers, describing the programme as an opportunity to gain skills, discipline, and national service training.

The agency plays a key role in youth empowerment through paramilitary training and vocational programmes. Recruits are equipped with practical skills in areas such as construction, agriculture, mechanical works, and community development, before being deployed to support national projects, disaster response, and environmental conservation.

The recruitment drive comes alongside an earlier announcement by NYS advertising over 700 vacancies, including 250 cadet officer positions and 500 private roles.

The positions target a wide range of skills, including drivers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, mechanics, and general duty personnel.

Applicants for the advertised posts have been instructed to download and fill the official application form available on the Public Service Commission website. Completed applications can be submitted via email or sent to the NYS headquarters in Nairobi.

The deadline for the job applications is set for March 18, 2026, even as the nationwide recruitment exercise continues.
