Max Dowman Becomes Youngest Premier League Scorer as Arsenal Beat Everton

Max Dowman became the youngest player ever to score in the Premier League after netting in Arsenal F.C.’s 2–0 victory over Everton F.C. on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.

The 16-year-old Arsenal youngster scored in stoppage time to seal the win and break a record that had stood for more than two decades.

Arsenal looked set for a frustrating evening despite dominating possession for large parts of the match. Everton defended resolutely and limited the league leaders to few clear opportunities.

The breakthrough finally came late in the match when Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres found the net to give Arsenal the lead.

With Everton pushing forward in search of an equaliser, Arsenal struck again deep into stoppage time. Dowman finished off a quick attacking move to secure the victory and write his name into Premier League history.

By scoring at just 16 years and 73 days, Dowman surpassed the previous record held by James Vaughan, who scored for Everton in 2005 at the age of 16 years and 270 days.

The goal also helped Arsenal move ten points clear at the top of the Premier League table, strengthening their position in the title race.

Dowman’s historic moment highlights the growing impact of Arsenal’s academy graduates, with the teenager already attracting attention as one of the club’s brightest emerging talents. ⚽
