Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has suspended Chief Officer for Urban Planning Patrick Analo as investigations into corruption allegations continue.

The suspension took effect on Friday, June 5, following developments in a case being handled by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

According to the governor, Analo will not be allowed to access his office, official records, county systems, or any government resources while the investigations are ongoing.

To ensure operations continue without disruption, Sakaja appointed Dominic Mutegi, the Director of Development Management, to take over the role in an acting capacity with immediate effect.

The county government said it views the allegations against the planning official seriously and will fully cooperate with investigators throughout the probe.

The suspension follows reports that investigators recovered Ksh63 million in cash allegedly linked to the case. The matter is now under active investigation by the anti-graft agency.

Sakaja stated that his administration remains committed to accountability and transparency in public service. He added that the county government will provide any support required by investigators as they seek to establish the facts surrounding the allegations.

The governor further emphasized that the suspension is intended to protect the integrity of the investigation and allow the process to proceed without interference.

EACC continues with inquiries into the matter, with further action expected once investigations are completed.
