Fresh political tension has emerged after Kimani Ichung'wah issued a strong warning ahead of a planned visit by Rigathi Gachagua. The remarks have intensified an already heated atmosphere in Kikuyu constituency.
Ichung’wah alleged that individuals linked to Gachagua attempted to disrupt normal activities early in the morning. He claimed the group blocked sections of the Southern Bypass near Thogoto, Kikuyu, and Gitaru using trailers and burning tyres.
According to the MP, security officers responded quickly and managed to disperse the group before the situation escalated further. He said their actions restored traffic flow and prevented disruption to businesses and commuters.
Ichung’wah went further and accused Gachagua of orchestrating the incidents to create a perception of unrest in the area. He warned that authorities would not tolerate any attempts to destabilize peace or incite chaos.
The legislator emphasized the need to protect residents and businesses from political interference and disruptions. He assured the public that security agencies remain on high alert to maintain order.
He urged residents to continue with their daily activities without fear as authorities monitor the situation closely. The statement comes as anticipation builds around Gachagua’s expected visit, which has already drawn significant attention.
The accusations are likely to trigger further political exchanges between the two leaders in the coming days. Observers are now waiting to see how Gachagua will respond to the claims raised against him.
