Petroleum PS, EPRA Boss, KPC Managing Director Arrested Over Fuel Saga

In a major development, authorities arrested four senior government officials over allegations of procuring substandard fuel. The arrests have raised fresh concerns about fuel quality and regulatory oversight across the country.

Those arrested include Petroleum Principal Secretary Mohamed Liban, EPRA Director General Daniel Kiptoo, and KPC Managing Director Joe Sang. Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations conducted the arrests on Thursday evening during an ongoing probe.

Investigators took the officials to DCI headquarters where they faced questioning over approval of substandard fuel procurement. Authorities have not yet released full details, but the case continues attracting significant public attention.

Sources revealed that investigators are examining procurement procedures, supply chains, and possible collusion among top officials. The probe aims to establish how the substandard fuel entered the market and bypassed required quality checks.
