Speaking on Spice FM, Sifuna stated that a plan had been set to embarrass him during the event in Kakamega. He said individuals had been mobilised to shout hostile chants against him in front of party leadership.
According to Sifuna, the plan failed and turned against those behind it. He maintained that he had no role in organising the group linked to the incident.
His remarks come days after Oburu Odinga gave a different account. In an interview on Hot 96 FM, Oburu alleged that Sifuna orchestrated the disruption.
Oburu claimed that the ODM Secretary General paid individuals to humiliate Raila during the rally. The accusation has fueled tension within the Orange Democratic Movement ranks.
Sifuna rejected the claims, insisting that he was the victim of a scheme meant to undermine him politically. The conflicting accounts have added to ongoing divisions within the party.
