Godfrey Osotsi has broken his silence from his hospital bed, dismissing claims that his recent assault was linked to a love triangle and instead pointing to a coordinated attack.
Speaking on Thursday, April 9, Osotsi clarified that the woman captured in CCTV footage was not involved in any personal relationship with him, but is a staff member identified as Jennifer. He criticized a blogger, who is also a Member of County Assembly, for allegedly spreading false claims to mislead the public.
“The lady I was with is known to everyone—she is Jennifer, and she is also my staff member,” Osotsi stated, visibly in pain as he addressed the matter.
His personal assistant further revealed that the attackers confiscated his phone during the incident and used it to post misleading information on his social media accounts, fueling the love-affair narrative.
Leaders who visited him in hospital strongly condemned the claims. Kalonzo Musyoka urged Osotsi’s family to ignore the allegations, terming them baseless and malicious. Other leaders present echoed similar sentiments, arguing that such an incident could not plausibly occur in a public setting if it were a personal dispute.
Osotsi also gave a chilling account of the attack, linking it to a senior government official he accused of orchestrating violence through hired youths. According to him, a group of about 20 individuals approached him while shouting his name before suddenly turning violent.
“They greeted me, then all of a sudden, they started hitting me,” he recounted.
Caleb Amisi and other leaders have since dismissed the love triangle narrative as a diversion tactic aimed at obscuring the real motive behind the attack.
