Panyako made the announcement on Thursday, July 17, ending speculation about his political future following his unsuccessful bid in the 2026 Malava by-election.
Panyako Confirms 2027 Ambition
In a statement shared on his social media platforms, the Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) Secretary General said he will contest for the Malava MP seat under the UDA banner.
"I will be vying for the Member of Parliament, Malava Constituency, on the UDA Party ticket in the 2027 General Election," Panyako stated.
Dismisses Senate Claims
The outspoken union leader also rejected reports suggesting he was planning to contest for the Kakamega Senate seat.
Panyako described the claims as false and insisted that his focus remains on winning the Malava parliamentary seat.
"Those who are claiming that I will be vying for a Senate seat, I want to tell you that that is propaganda," he said.
Plans Homecoming Event
Panyako further disclosed that he will soon hold a homecoming event to formally unveil his political direction and rally supporters ahead of the 2027 elections.
His return to UDA marks another shift in Kakamega County's political landscape as parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the next General Election.
The announcement comes just over a year after Panyako lost the Malava parliamentary by-election, but he now hopes to reclaim the seat under President William Ruto's ruling party.
