The event, dubbed Education Day, is scheduled to take place at Siakago Primary School grounds and has been organized by Mbeere North MP Leo Wamuthende.
A poster shared by digital strategist Dennis Itumbi on Wednesday lists several senior government officials expected to attend the function. Among those featured are Cabinet Secretaries Wycliffe Oparanya, Alfred Mutua, Hassan Joho and William Kabogo.
The poster also includes a number of Members of Parliament, among them Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Eric Wamumbi, Betty Maina, Martin Wanyonyi and Innocent Mugambe.
Other prominent figures listed include National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, Farouk Kibet and Dennis Itumbi.
However, the absence of Kindiki and Ruku has drawn attention because both leaders come from the wider Mt Kenya East region, and Ruku is a prominent political figure from Embu County.
Itumbi accompanied the poster with a message confirming his attendance at the event.
"Ndugu Hon. Leo Wa Mūthende, nitakuwepo. Asante for the invite. I was there when you shared the dream to educate every child in Mbeere; I will be there as you start fulfilling the promise," he wrote on Facebook.
He added: "The East. Where the sun rises. Niko njiani. Sina mengi ya kusema kwa sasa."
The omission has fueled speculation online about possible political undertones surrounding the event, although there has been no official explanation from the organizers regarding the guest list.
Neither the Office of the Deputy President nor CS Geoffrey Ruku had commented on the matter at the time of publication.
The development comes amid heightened political activity in the Mt Kenya region as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
