Pastor Jackson Mwangi has publicly advised his younger brother, controversial preacher Victor Kanyari, to stop pursuing his children. He said the children would eventually return on their own if given time.
Jackson made the remarks during a church service while addressing family relationships. His comments come amid Kanyari's public efforts to reconnect with his children.
Advice to Kanyari
Jackson said he recently watched Kanyari appeal to his children after reportedly buying them a house worth KSh90 million. He argued that material gifts should not become the basis for rebuilding family relationships.
He said he would only make one effort to reach out if his own children left home. After that, he would wait for them to return voluntarily.
Views on Family Relationships
The Nairobi-based pastor said he follows the same principle in marriage. He explained that he would only attempt reconciliation once or twice before moving on.
Jackson maintained that personal success eventually attracts respect. He said children often reconnect with parents after recognising their achievements.
Message on Custody
The preacher also urged Kanyari not to struggle over custody if the children remain with their stepfather, Hiram Gitau, popularly known as Tash. He expressed confidence that they would eventually seek out their biological father.
Jackson said patience would produce better results than constant pursuit. He encouraged Kanyari to allow time to rebuild the relationship naturally.
