Suba South MP Caroli Omondi has stated that the Linda Mwananchi movement is willing to consider reconciliation calls being made by the rival ODM faction namely Linda Ground.
Omondi has stated that they would be willing to engage in talks with the other camp, but there are conditions that must be met before such happens.
The lawmaker has clarified that among their conditions is that Linda Ground exists the Broad-based government and cancels ODM's coalition talks with President William Ruto.
"They must disengage from UDA, withdraw the letter they issued that they will exit the Azimio Coalition and open the delegates’ conference for competitive elections of party officials," he said on Thursday.
He further noted that so far, they have not received any formal dialogue request from ODM, save for the recent calls made by Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati.
Arati, while speaking in Busia in January, claimed that there will soon be a sit-down between them and the rival side led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, after which their differences will be ironed out.
“I will call them, and we will sit down with them, from Edwin Sifuna to the Vihiga Senator , who has no problems. He only missed this event because he was on other travels. We will also call and reach out to the youthful leaders such as Babu Owino,” he added.
Omondi insisted that even if there are going to be talks, it will not involve discussions about them joining Ruto or endorsing his re-election bid.
