Police in Nakuru County have launched investigations after a man was allegedly stabbed to death inside a lodging after he was reportedly found with a married woman.
The shocking incident happened late at night in one of the busy estates within Nakuru town, leaving residents in fear and raising fresh concerns over increasing cases of violence linked to domestic disputes.
According to witnesses, the deceased man had booked a room together with the woman at the lodging earlier in the evening. Reports indicate that the woman’s husband later received information from people who allegedly saw the two entering the building together.
The angry husband is said to have rushed to the lodging accompanied by a group of men before forcing their way into the room where the couple was staying. A heated confrontation reportedly broke out before the situation turned violent.
During the commotion, the man accused of having an affair with the married woman was allegedly stabbed several times with a sharp object. He sustained serious injuries and collapsed inside the room as terrified workers and customers screamed for help.
Staff members at the lodging quickly alerted police officers from a nearby station who arrived at the scene moments later. The victim was rushed to Nakuru Level Five Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The married woman escaped unhurt but was left in deep shock following the incident. Police officers recorded statements from her and several witnesses who were present during the attack.
The suspected attacker and two other men who were reportedly with him disappeared immediately after the incident. Detectives have since launched a manhunt for the suspects as investigations continue.
Police have condemned the killing, warning members of the public against taking the law into their own hands whenever they are faced with relationship disputes or family disagreements.
The body of the deceased was moved to the Nakuru County mortuary awaiting postmortem examination as detectives work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
