Two village elders have been abducted in Sololo, triggering anger and protests from residents. The incident involved former chief Dabassa Dambi and elder Gurach Dambala.

The abductions reportedly happened on Saturday in separate locations. Residents say unknown individuals took the elders without explanation.

Residents Demand Immediate Action

People from Sololo demanded the immediate release of the two elders. They staged protests and blocked some local movement routes.

Protesters insisted that authorities must follow the law if the elders are accused of any offence. They said the suspects should be presented before a court.

One resident warned that continued silence from authorities would increase tension. Locals accused security agencies of ignoring repeated concerns.

Allegations Linked to Past Disputes

Some residents claimed the elders had spoken out on a boundary dispute in the region. The dispute reportedly involves parts of Marsabit County.

Protesters believe the comments may have led to their abduction. They accused authorities of targeting leaders who challenge government positions.

Another resident said the situation reflects growing insecurity in the area. Community members demanded urgent government intervention.

Community Describes Missing Elders

Former chief Dabassa Dambi was reportedly taken from his home during the incident. Elder Gurach Dambala was allegedly intercepted while travelling.

Residents described both men as respected and peaceful community figures. They said the elders often helped resolve local disputes.

Some locals also said Dabassa had served in government for many years. They insisted he remained committed to peace and stability.

Calls for Government Response

Residents urged the Interior Ministry to act quickly and secure the elders’ release. They said families are living in fear and uncertainty.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the abductions. The situation remains tense as investigations continue.
