Reports indicate that Isaiah Yunke is the man set to marry President William Ruto's daughter, Charlene Ruto, with the couple expected to hold their traditional engagement ceremony, known as Koito, on Saturday at Intonna Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County.
Yunke is a Tanzanian entrepreneur who has built a reputation through technology and education-focused initiatives across Africa. He is the founder of SomaApp, a platform that connects African students with scholarship opportunities abroad.
According to information circulating ahead of the ceremony, the platform has helped more than 7,000 young Africans access scholarship opportunities in foreign universities.
Tech Entrepreneur and Social Impact Advocate
Yunke has received international recognition for his work in technology and social impact.
In 2018, he received the Queen's Young Leaders Award from Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his youth-focused and technology-driven community initiatives.
A year later, he was named an Ashoka Fellow, joining a global network of social entrepreneurs working on innovative solutions to public challenges.
He also appeared on the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 list, which highlights young entrepreneurs and changemakers considered to be shaping the continent's future.

Reports further indicate that Yunke became the first African, at the age of 17, to present on child rights advocacy at the 2007 G8 Summit.
That appearance reportedly marked one of his earliest entries into international advocacy and leadership spaces, helping establish his profile beyond the technology sector.

The traditional engagement ceremony is expected to take place in Kilgoris, Narok County, and has attracted significant public interest because of Charlene Ruto's high national profile.
Reports suggest that Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan is among the dignitaries expected to attend the event, although official details of the guest list had not been publicly confirmed at the time of publication.
