Fresh reports indicate that Central Police Station OCS Dishen Angoya has been hospitalised after his arrest over the alleged unlawful release of 64 protest suspects in Nairobi.

Police arrested Angoya on allegations of abuse of office after authorities accused him of releasing suspects arrested during Monday’s anti-fuel protests without lawful authority.

OCS Reportedly Fell Ill After Arrest

According to police reports, the officer complained of high blood pressure shortly after officers placed him in custody. Authorities later transferred him to hospital for medical attention as investigations continued.

Police have not yet disclosed details about his current condition. However, officials confirmed that investigations into the release of the suspects remain active.

Alleged Release Sparks Investigations

Authorities say the 64 suspects faced public order offences linked to anti-fuel protests that disrupted transport and business operations in Nairobi.

Security agencies described the alleged release as a serious breach of police procedure. Investigators are now trying to establish how the suspects left custody.

The officer remains under investigation and could face court charges once detectives complete the probe.

Fuel Protests Continue to Raise Tension

The anti-fuel protests triggered chaos in Nairobi and other towns after transport operators withdrew services over rising fuel prices.

Demonstrators blocked roads and clashed with police in several areas. The unrest also led to arrests, injuries, and destruction of property.

Authorities continue monitoring the situation as investigations into protest-related incidents intensify across the country.
