IEBC Says Voters Registered Before 2012 Must Re-Register, How to Check

IEBC has directed voters by asking those listed before 2012 to register afresh ahead of elections. Chairman Erastus Edung Ethekon clarified that the current register covers post-2012 names and old voters with biometrics.

The electoral agency explained that many pre-2012 entries lack complete biometric records, making them absent from the digital system. Citizens who fail to re-register risk exclusion from the voters’ roll in the upcoming general election.

Ethekon urged all eligible Kenyans to visit IEBC registration centres or Huduma Centres promptly to update their details. The chairman emphasized that a comprehensive register is crucial for ensuring a transparent and credible electoral process.
