Emotional Moments as Family Unable to Bury Son Killed By CS Aden Duale's Motorcade

A grieving family in Kiminini, Trans-Nzoia County, is seeking justice after losing their 23-year-old son. Hillary Kiptoo Longi died in a tragic road accident that left relatives struggling emotionally and financially.

Kiptoo lost his life on March 8 along the Kisumu-Busia highway at Otonglo area. A government vehicle from a high-profile convoy struck the tuk-tuk he travelled in, killing three people.

Three weeks later, the family has not buried his body due to lack of funds. His remains still lie at the morgue as relatives struggle to raise money for burial expenses.

His brother, Abel Longin, described the painful moment he received the heartbreaking news about the accident. He said he rushed to Kisumu hospital but found Kiptoo had already died from severe injuries.

The family said they only received limited assistance from Deputy Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli. They added that no other government official has contacted them since the tragic incident occurred.

Kiptoo’s father, Joseph Longin, said the loss has deeply affected the entire family emotionally and financially. He explained that he had sold part of his land to support his son’s education plans.

His mother, Beatrice Wamukota, described Kiptoo as hardworking and focused on supporting the family before joining university. She said her son had many dreams and urged authorities to ensure justice and provide support.

Relatives are now demanding accountability from those responsible while urging the government to step in. They insisted the family cannot manage the burden alone and deserves dignity to bury their loved one properly.
