Several people are feared dead after a helicopter crashed at Mt Ololokwe in Samburu County on Wednesday morning, August 19.
A witness reported seeing the aircraft after it went down in a deep and difficult-to-reach section of the mountain.
The witness called for an urgent rescue operation, saying the crash site remained far from accessible areas.
“Right there, there is a helicopter that has fallen. It is quite deep and far, but do send urgent help so that people can be rescued,” the witness said.
Rescue Teams Face Difficult Terrain
The remote location of the crash could complicate efforts to reach the site and establish the condition of those on board.
Authorities had yet to confirm the number of people inside the helicopter or provide details about their condition at the time of reporting.
The identities of those on board also remained unknown as rescue efforts and investigations continued.
Officials are expected to provide more information as emergency teams reach the crash site and assess the situation.
