The leaders made the announcement during a meeting at Gachagua's Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri County on Tuesday, July 29, as the former deputy president continued efforts to expand DCP's influence in the Mt Kenya region ahead of the 2027 General Election.
According to reports, the MCAs left the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), The Service Party (TSP), and other allied parties to join DCP.
Gachagua Hails New Defections
Gachagua welcomed the leaders and described the defections as evidence that DCP is gaining momentum across the country.
The former deputy president has recently intensified meetings with governors, MPs, senators, MCAs, and grassroots leaders as he seeks to build a strong political movement ahead of the next election cycle.
The latest defections come barely days after Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata officially joined DCP, further strengthening the party's growing presence in the Mt Kenya region.

If confirmed, the defections would significantly increase DCP's representation in county assemblies and strengthen its grassroots structures in Laikipia and Nakuru.
The development also adds pressure on UDA as political realignments continue to reshape the Mt Kenya region, which remains a key battleground ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Neither UDA nor the affected county assemblies had issued an official statement on the reported defections at the time of publication.
Political analysts say the move could influence local alliances and county-level politics in both Laikipia and Nakuru as parties begin positioning themselves for the next electoral contest.
