The Executive Office of the President has announced plans to dispose of a range of old government assets through a public auction later this month.

According to a notice issued on June 9, the exercise will involve the sale of items that the government no longer uses. Members of the public will have an opportunity to bid for various assets, including motor vehicles, scrap metal, used tyres, televisions, and furniture.

The list also features old vehicle batteries, Toyota gearboxes, halogen security lights, a car wash machine, and other equipment that has reached the end of its service life.

Officials said the auction will take place on June 23 from 10:00 a.m. at the State Department for Roads grounds in Ruiru.

Interested bidders must meet the auction requirements before participating. One of the conditions requires prospective buyers to pay a refundable deposit of Ksh50,000. Participants must make the payment in cash at Harambee House through the Executive Office of the President.

The disposal exercise forms part of routine government asset management, where outdated or unusable equipment is sold to create space and allow institutions to replace worn-out items.

The auction presents an opportunity for individuals, businesses, and dealers to acquire vehicles, equipment, and other materials directly from the government through a competitive bidding process.

Authorities have advised interested participants to review the auction terms and inspect the listed items before the sale date.
