TikTok removed more than 820,000 videos in Kenya between October and December 2025. The platform increased moderation efforts to improve online safety and reduce harmful content.

According to TikTok’s Q4 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, the company removed 820,552 videos in Kenya during the three-month period. The report highlights the growing scale of content moderation on the platform.

TikTok Detected Most Violations Automatically

TikTok said it detected and removed 99.9 per cent of the violating videos before users reported them. The company also stated that moderators removed 98.4 per cent of the videos within 24 hours after upload.

The platform explained that automated systems played a major role in detecting harmful content quickly. These systems use artificial intelligence and machine learning technology.

TikTok said the moderation targeted misinformation, hate speech, policy violations, and other harmful content. The company stressed that it continues enforcing its rules consistently.

Thousands of Kenyan Accounts Banned

TikTok also banned 108,752 accounts in Kenya during the same period. Many of the accounts belonged to underage users.

According to the report, 93,704 banned accounts belonged to users below 13 years old. TikTok rules do not allow children under 13 to operate accounts on the platform.

The company said the move aims to protect children and improve digital safety. TikTok added that it wants to create a safer environment for users in Kenya and globally.

Global Removals Cross 175 Million Videos

Globally, TikTok removed over 175 million videos during the fourth quarter of 2025. The figure represented about 0.5 per cent of all uploaded content during the period.

The platform said automated systems detected and removed more than 152 million videos worldwide. TikTok later restored some content after additional reviews found no violations.

TikTok Expands Enforcement Measures

TikTok also introduced new moderation changes in 2025. The company expanded transparency around TikTok LIVE monetisation, comment moderation, advertising policies, and intellectual property enforcement.

The platform said these changes will strengthen accountability and improve trust among users worldwide.
