Jackson Nderitu has moved to the Court of Appeal to challenge his 20-year prison sentence in a case that now threatens to reopen a family dispute linked to property and inheritance claims.
Jackson, the son of the late Nderitu Gachagua, claims his uncle Rigathi Gachagua played a role in his arrest.
According to Jackson, powerful individuals orchestrated his arrest to remove him from the fight over his late father’s property and estate.
He argues that as the rightful heir, he stood in the way of attempts to disinherit him and other relatives from accessing the family wealth.
Jackson now wants the Court of Appeal to review the conviction and sentence, insisting the case carried hidden family interests beyond the criminal charges.
The appeal has revived public attention around the long-running tensions within the Gachagua family. Jackson insists he will continue pursuing justice through the courts.
He also maintained that truth and justice would eventually prevail. According to him, those responsible for his suffering will one day answer for their actions.
The latest legal move now places fresh focus on the dispute as the appellate court prepares to review the matter.
