As the world celebrated Mother's Day on Sunday, the 10th of May, 2026, many people took to their social media platforms to celebrate the mothers and mother figures in their lives.
They actually penned for them some heartwarming messages, through which they sweetly appreciated the important roles that they play in their lives.
Others also showered them with gifts, as a way of reminding them just how much they value them.
Among those who celebrated their mothers on the special day was popular Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
The ODM legislator actually took to his Facebook account and shared a never-seen-before photo of him posing with his mother, by the moniker of Mrs. Watenya.
Hon. Edwin Sifuna then accompanied the photo with a lovely caption, in which he showered Mrs. Watenya with praises for how she raised him despite the fact that she was a strict disciplinarian.
"World, meet mother. Mrs Watenya is a retired teacher. Ile viboko na slippers alinikulisha...wacha tu. But sikuhizi we are best of friends hadi nikama tunafanana. We celebrate all mothers today ju kulea wengine wetu si rahisi" he said.
