The Kileleshwa MCA has broken silence with a powerful statement warning the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to urgently prepare for a leadership transition before it is too late.
said the party must immediately begin grooming a stand-in leader who can take over whenever is unable to personally lead party activities.
In his strong remarks, Alai expressed concern about the pressure being placed on Dr. Oburu, especially the constant travel demands and frequent use of helicopters during political events.
According to him, the senior ODM leader should not be pushed beyond his limits because of party responsibilities.
Alai warned that the top ODM leadership risks harming Dr. Oburu’s health by forcing him into a demanding political schedule that may not match his age and well-being.
He argued that political leaders must also be allowed to live peacefully and take care of their health instead of being overworked for party interests.
The outspoken MCA further said ODM should not wait for a crisis before planning for the future.
He insisted that a new generation of leadership must start being prepared now to ensure the party remains strong and united in the years ahead.
Alai ended his statement with a sharp warning, saying that if ODM fails to groom a new leader in time, the party may eventually collapse and supporters could be forced to search for a new political vehicle.
