Senator Godfrey Osotsi Seriously Attacked and Injured in Kisumu, Unable to Usee Road and to Be Airlifted to Nairobi

Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has been seriously injured in a shocking attack in Kisumu and is set to be airlifted to Nairobi for urgent medical care, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna confirmed. The incident occurred while Osotsi, the former ODM deputy party leader, was receiving a haircut in Kisumu. Sifuna, who was the first to break the news, said he had spoken directly with the Senator’s team to confirm the severity of the injuries.

According to Sifuna, the attack left Osotsi unable to travel by road due to the seriousness of his condition. “I have spoken to Senator Osotsi’s team and confirmed that he was viciously attacked and injured in Kisumu earlier today when he went to get a haircut,” Sifuna stated. The nature of the injuries has not been fully disclosed, but the urgency of the airlift suggests that medical attention in Nairobi is critical.

Sifuna condemned the attack in strong terms, urging law enforcement agencies to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice. “The Senator is being airlifted to Nairobi as we speak. Whilst we wait for further details, I strongly condemn this attack and ask the Police for immediate action on those responsible,” he added.

The attack has shocked political circles, with many expressing concern over the safety of public figures while performing everyday activities. Security sources are reportedly investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault. Meanwhile, colleagues and constituents have called for swift justice and heightened protection measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. The country now watches closely as Osotsi receives medical treatment, and authorities work to identify and apprehend those behind the attack.
