Central Organization of Trade Union (COTU) secretary general Francis Atwoli has accused former president and Jubilee party leader Uhuru Kenyatta of failing to make former prime minister Raila Odinga as the fifth president of Kenya.
Atwoli was speaking in Kilifi during the burial of Owen Baya's mother as reported by Citizen Digital. Raila Odinga then lost the election to William Ruto of United Democratic Alliance (UDA"There is no opposition in Kenya at the moment, and former President Uhuru Kenyatta should stop inciting Kenyans along tribal lines.
He should remember that his is lazy and he was made president by Ruto, and he also failed to make Raila Odinga president when still had power; he should retire," said Atwoli.
Uhuru Kenyatta and the late Raila Odinga will be remembered for their handshake in March 2018 where their friendships began. Uhuru later supported Odinga in 2022 general elections but lost to William Ruto who was once Uhuru's deputy.
Kenyatta is currently part of opposition in Kenya and they are hoping to make President William Ruto a one term president in the next general elections in 2027. Other members of opposition include Rigathi Gachagua, Fred Matiang'i, Kalonzo Musyoka among others.
Atwoli further claimed that there is no opposition in Kenya at the moment and that Uhuru Kenyatta is lazy and should retire from politics as he is inciting Kenyans along tribal lines.
It should be remembered that Francis Atwoli was once a close friend of Uhuru Kenyatta and is on record telling the Uhuru Kenyatta that he was still young and should continue engaging in politics. But now he has turned against him.
