Police in Nairobi have launched investigations into a shocking incident where a man is accused of killing his six-month-old baby after allegedly being denied money for alcohol by the child’s mother.
The suspect has been identified as George Mbugua, who is reported to work as a county askari in Nairobi County.
According to information shared with Geoffrey Mosiria, the tragic incident occurred after a domestic dispute between the man and the baby’s mother.
Reports indicate that the mother, who survives on casual jobs such as washing clothes to support her family, had refused to give Mbugua money to buy alcohol.
The disagreement quickly escalated, leading to a disturbing turn of events.
It is alleged that Mbugua forcefully snatched the baby from the mother during the argument.
Witnesses say he then told her that she would only get her child back if she provided him with money.
According to the mother’s account, he also reportedly demanded money before he could return both the baby and a phone he had taken from her.
