Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana is mourning the death of his last-born daughter, Amal Mghoi Mungatana.
Amal, who was eight years old, died on Sunday, September 13, while receiving treatment at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital in Muthaiga.
According to the senator, his daughter had battled illness for a long time before she passed away.
Mungatana announced the heartbreaking news through his social media platforms, describing the loss as a moment of profound sorrow for the family.
In a statement, the senator said his family and his wife, Deputy Government Spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga, were mourning the passing of their last-born daughter.
“It is with profound sorrow that the family of Hon. Senator Dr. Danson Mungatana and his wife, Hon. Mwanaisha Chidzuga, Deputy Government Spokesperson, announce the passing of their last-born daughter, Amal Mghoi Mungatana,” Mungatana stated.
The senator did not disclose further details about the illness that led to his daughter’s death.
The loss has left the Mungatana and Chidzuga families mourning the death of their young daughter.
