Grief and anger have engulfed a family in Kisaju after their 7-year-old son, Darren Wafula, was found murdered days after he was reported missing.
The family is now demanding swift, thorough investigations to ensure those behind the heinous act are brought to justice.
According to reports, young Darren disappeared on Monday after his mother, Cynthia Nasimiyu, left for work.
His sudden disappearance caused panic, prompting the family to launch an immediate search while filing a report at the local police station.
In a chilling twist, Cynthia disclosed that she received a phone call from an unknown man who demanded Ksh 4,500, threatening to kill her son if she failed to pay.
Despite reporting the threat to authorities, her worst fears were confirmed when residents discovered Darren’s body dumped along Namanga Road on April 25, 2026.
"My son went missing on Monday after I went to work. A man called and demanded Ksh 4,500. He said he would kill him if I did not pay. I reported it to the police. Later, I was told my son’s body had been found," a distraught Cynthia recounted.
Police have confirmed that investigations are underway and urged residents with any information to come forward, assuring the public that the suspects will face the law.
