Police Recover Missing Head of Murdered Security Guard in Nakuru Quarry

Shock and tension have gripped Nakuru after a disturbing murder case took a new turn, with a suspect reportedly leading detectives to a quarry where he is alleged to have disposed of his wife’s head.

The victim, Jackline Awuor, a 30-year-old security guard, was killed in an incident now under investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations. Authorities say the suspect guided officers to an abandoned quarry in Bahati, about 500 metres from where her body had earlier been found.

During the search, detectives recovered items including a bloodstained sweater and a knitted hat believed to have been used in the crime. The recovered head was taken to PNN Mortuary for DNA analysis to confirm its identity.

The main suspect, Evans Abutu, was arrested in Kakamega County before being transferred to Nakuru, where he is expected to face murder charges. Police are also seeking more time to complete investigations.

In a separate development, officers rescued the couple’s three-year-old daughter, who had been taken by the suspect.

The case has sparked outrage among residents and renewed concerns over rising domestic violence incidents, with calls for swift justice growing louder within the community.
